Dear Stakeholders:

Stephen A. Melton, Co-chair, President, Columbus Bank and Trust Co., and Kathelen V. Amos, Co-chair, President, Aflac Foundation, Inc.The Chattahoochee Valley has come to a crossroads. While we are all thrilled to see more major corporations locate and expand here, we recognize our responsibility to provide all businesses with a quality, well-educated workforce. That's where Columbus Technical College comes in. Columbus Technical College has been an educational and economic cornerstone for this community since the College was known as The Columbus Area Vocational-Technical School in the early 1960s.

The Columbus area has evolved from a primarily manufacturing-based economy to one based on skilled service industry employees. The curriculum, training, and work experience offered at Columbus Technical College have consistently kept pace as this region's economic building blocks have changed. Columbus Technical College provides the opportunity of making a good wage and enjoying a quality-filled life. If Columbus Technical College is to keep pace with future progress in the Columbus area, our local community must be more informed and more involved in a campaign to begin building Tomorrow's Workforce... Today.

Georgia and Alabama, along with the rest of the nation, are faced with a dire shortage of healthcare professionals. While Columbus Technical College's nursing program boasts a 100% placement rate for its highly skilled graduates, a lack of critical resources forces Columbus Technical College to turn away more than 50% of its qualified applicants. A successful Tomorrow's Workforce... Today campaign will provide a new health sciences facility, increasing the number of nursing graduates from 63 to 130 each year, while adding much needed faculty and programs for our community. This facility will serve as the foundation of the College's future campus home on River Road.

To make this vision a reality, Columbus Technical College needs your support. Please take a few minutes to read this brochure and then invest in your community's future. By doing so, you will help build Tomorrow's Workforce... Today.

Very Sincerely,

Stephen A. Melton, Co-chair
President, Columbus Bank & Trust Co.
